Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Cambridge & surrounding areas
Salary: Up to £21ph - £43,680

A growing M&E Contractor is looking to for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer join its busy Service & Maintenance team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a business that delivers high-quality M&E and HVAC services across the commercial, education, domestic and healthcare sectors throughout Cambridge and the surrounding areas.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, maintenance and small installation of mechanical systems working across a variety of sites and dealing directly with clients.
As the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities:
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a variety of mechanical systems.
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
Service, maintain and repair mechanical systems including pumps, pipework, valves, heating systems, commercial hot and cold water services and associated mechanical systems.
Complete small mechanical installation and remedial works as required.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide effective fault-finding solutions.
Complete job sheets, service reports and certification accurately.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, providing a professional and customer-focused service.
Liaise with the office and management team regarding completed works and any further remedial requirements.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current regulations and company procedures.
Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
Experience carrying out maintenance within commercial mechanical building services.
Overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of mechanical systems and their installation methods.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Experience working on heating systems, pumps, valves, pipework and commercial plant.
Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
IPAF, PASMA or unvented hot water qualifications would be preferred.
Full UK Driving Licence.
